Quotes that move me

"You will never find Jesus so precious as when the world is one vast howling wilderness.  Then he is like a rose blooming in the midst of the desolation, a rock rising above the storm."

Whirlwind

Blessed with loot, and good friends to help carry it!
My precious, perfect, pleasant shower. People I love so dearly.
My Momma. The one who taught me to love motherhood by her example.
My dear, precious friend, Claudia.
My youth group gals; Ana and Mackenzie. And Owen's future babysitters!
The theme of my prayers for Owen, and the theme of his room: ROOTED.
The lovely letters my bunny bought me.
My girls at the up north surprise shower: (left to right) Caitie, Summer, me and Melly.
The proud parents-to-be and the amazing cake that Tara's sister-in-law made.
The rockin' buggy that we get to use. Each family gets it for a little while with each child. It's been in Chet's family for a while! Supposedly, instead of calling it a buggy, I should inherit a strong German accent and pronounce it: KINDER-Vagen. :)
My brother in law, Steve, at my retirement party!
Celebrating my last day of work!
Mom, me, Avila, Michelle, Ava, and SumSum.
These were the decor at my girlfriends shower. Allie made each of them. It took me an hour to make the framed art with them; well worth it. It's one of my favorite pieces in the room.

These last few weeks have been quite the whirlwind. Here's a synopsis of the activity:
1. Friday was my last day at work. Cheston and all my friends called it "Retirement Day". It doesn't feel real yet, I guess it will when Owen is here.
2. We have had a total of FOUR showers. A surprise shower thrown by Chet's high schoolers, one from my girlfriends and family, one from our church, and one from my Mother and Sister in law. Two of them were surprise. :) Two of them, I was privileged to have my dear friend, Claudia speak on adoption, and my Mother speak on motherhood, and the journey that has brought me here. Both were moving and perfect.
3. We've finished the nursery. All that is missing is the final over-the-crib picture, and ...the baby, of course.
4. Cheston has taken up a new hobby. Spearfishing. If times get tough, Cheston can truly step into hunter-gatherer role and spear us some dinner.
5. I have four strollers. Let me explain...I have my main stroller that matches the infant seat, a snap and go stroller for easy and lightweight access, a jogging stroller (free) for my cardio exercise, and a little umbrella stroller to take anywhere.
6. My brother-in-law, Steve, is moving to Camarillo!
7. Cheston built us a beautiful cradle for our Moses basket.
8. All bags are packed for Owen's arrival. Still gotta pack our bags. :)
