Quotes that move me

"You will never find Jesus so precious as when the world is one vast howling wilderness.  Then he is like a rose blooming in the midst of the desolation, a rock rising above the storm."

Beach Solitude

I've started a new tradition until Owen arrives. I set aside (at least) Friday afternoons and head to my favorite sandy beach with my Bible, sunscreen, journal and Future Men book. I have found that my heart and soul find great peace there. I have been able to really search and prepare my heart, study the scriptures, and watch great surfing.

Yesterday, I read through Phillipians. I studied all the qualities of a steadfast follower of Christ, and pleaded with God to grow me in those ways. This has been a wonderful time to be in prayer, write in my journal and really ask God to help me to grow in those qualities that He wants me to grow in as a daughter of Christ, of a wife and of a Mommy. I hope you enjoy the picture, because that is all I need to describe such a day.

I just wanted to thank you for the words of wisdom your blog provided to me last week. After a fight with my husband the night before, I Google-d "encouragement for Christian women" and your blog captivated me, though I live all the way across the US. Thank you for reminding me to 'count it all joy' and remain rooted in the faith. May Christ continue to bless your life~
